Providence Academy is a Classical Academy, which means, among other things, that the techniques, philosophy and Faith of the Western Tradition are used to form the students into models for the future. There is at once a sense
of delving into the past and spending time with the traditions that have come before us, while at the same time having an eye on the future for the sake of our children. We truly are building on yesterday for our children's tomorrow.
The Oak Tree rising out of a column expresses elegantly the thought behind our school. From the solid foundation which the Ancient and Medieval Worlds
have provided humanity, grows the hope for strength and new life.
Among the various kinds of trees, the oak tree has held a pride of place
throughout history and across cultures. Used to construct everything from Japanese drums to great ships like the USS Constitution, the oak tree has
proven its usefulness. The tree itself expresses the universality of the Classical Curriculum geographically and practically.
